Today’s article is a brief post about the blog itself. Regular articles will return with the next post.
New Website Design
It’s hard to believe that this blog has been around for 7 years.
In 2011 I bought a domain name, rented space on a server, taught myself WordPress, and began writing. The design has remained constant since that time.
It’s never a good idea to keep Web software stagnant for too long. Aesthetics are only one part of it; new software releases close security holes and embrace new design standards, too.
The new design loads faster and easier to read. The colour scheme has changed from dark greys to a lighter tone. I’ve updated the support page for the bookstore. The sidebar now has links to popular series. The bookstore page is updated, too. The list of community blogs is now up to date as well.
New blog features will be coming in the next few months.
Notice a quirk with the new design? Maybe a bug that I’ve missed? Please email me if you have any issues using the site.
Blog Direction
I haven’t been writing as much as I would like. I’ve been eager to write more but serious obligations have taken greater priority. It has been a fairly scattershot article schedule, and I’d like to change that. Recently I’ve found a bit more time to get back to writing, so you can expect to see new articles trickling out.
I’ve many articles banked that I’m eager to share. On the list are a number of reviews (MixPre-6, Wildtronics Parabolic dish, Instamic), a new roundup article, finishing the field recording gear gap series, features on noise and choosing equipment, and more. You can subscribe to the free newsletter to receive articles in your email inbox when they are published.
Stay tuned, there is much more content coming soon.
